Invista's Athens site has once again earned OSHAVoluntary Protection Program (VPP)鈥擲tar status.听
Invista's Athens site has once again earned the highest designation under the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration鈥檚 (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)鈥擲tar status.
INVISTA, which was first certified in 2012, is one of only three VPP Star sites in Athens, Ga.听
鈥淭his designation represents our employees鈥� on-going dedication to safety, and we congratulate them on this achievement,鈥� said Shauna Devereux, Invista Athens site manager. 鈥淓very day, we strive for 10,000% compliance, which means 100% of our employees comply with safety requirements and regulations 100% of the time. We鈥檙e proud this hard work and diligence is recognized by the VPP STAR facility recertification.鈥�
OSHA awarded the VPP Star recertification to the Athens site after a thorough third-party audit of the site鈥檚 safety and health programs, operations performance and safety record.听
鈥淚nvista has been recertified as a VPP site as a result of making safety its top priority,鈥� said William Fulcher, area director for the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA鈥檚 Atlanta-East Area office. 鈥淭his site has an injury [total recordable] rate 39% lower than the average plant that does the same thing. As a result of strong management leadership and employee involvement, the facility continues to protect workers and provide a good place to work.鈥�
